This type of double-bit axe was originally used by lumberjacks, who benefited from having a sharp axe at their disposal at all times. One side was used for rough work and the other for fine work. Today, the axe is mainly used in competitions among enthusiasts as a throwing axe. It is named after the blacksmith Wetterhall, who worked at Hults Bruk longer than anyone else. Like all Hultafors axes, the Wetterhall throwing axe is hand-forged and made from high-quality Swedish steel.
